Website Hosting and Support

Let's Keep Your Sight Running Smoothly

The pretty, functional parts of a website get all the credit—they’re more glamorous.

But for those to keep looking beautiful and running smoothly, and keep your content and reputation safe, you need solid hosting and maintenance. Hosting isn’t the sexiest part of having a website, but it’s essential. If we’ve created a website together, it makes sense to keep the hosting together too. I offer two packages so you can focus on running your business while I handle the behind-the-scenes technical stuff.

Essential Care Package

$235/year

What it is, what gets done

Premium Elementor hosting plus proactive maintenance to keep your website secure, updated, and running smoothly without you having to think about it. This package handles all the technical necessities—the plugin updates, security patches, backups, and monitoring that keep your site stable and safe. You just run your business, and the technical stuff happens in the background.

What’s included:

  • Premium Elementor hosting powered by Google Cloud Platform
  • Plugin updates and security patches
  • Theme updates and compatibility monitoring
  • Automatic backups and security monitoring
  • SSL certificate maintained
  • Up to 2 emergency fixes or quick updates per year

Good fit if: You just want your website to work without thinking about it.

Enhanced Care Package

$425/year

What it is, what gets done

Everything in Essential Care PLUS monthly technical support from me for content updates, changes, and ongoing improvements. This package is for businesses that evolve regularly—updating services, adjusting pricing, adding content. Instead of learning how to make changes yourself or submitting tickets to unfamiliar support teams, you have direct access to the person who built your site and knows exactly how it works.

What’s included:

  • Everything in Essential Care Package
  • Priority response times
  • Up to 30 minutes of monthly technical support for content updates and corrections, pricing and language updates, minor design adjustments, and technical troubleshooting

Good fit if: you want ongoing support as your business evolves and changes.

Note: The 30 minutes resets each month and doesn’t roll over if unused.

How this compares to other options

Additional work beyond your package scope is available at $95/hour in 30-minute increments.

Need more than your package includes?

Basic DIY hosting runs $60-120 annually if you go the budget shared hosting route. But here’s what many people don’t realize: your website shares server space with dozens (sometimes hundreds) of other websites. If any of those sites get compromised or flagged for spam, it can affect your site’s performance, security, and even your search engine reputation. You’re essentially in a digital neighborhood—and not all neighbors are good ones.

Beyond hosting costs, someone needs to actually maintain your website—handling plugin updates, security patches, backups, and troubleshooting. Most web design professionals charge $500-$1,000 annually just for maintenance services, separate from hosting. When you add hosting, even solopreneurs can end up paying $600-$1,300+ total.

Often people end up paying for hosting in one place and maintenance in another, which adds up fast. I created the Enhanced Care Package to bundle both at a reasonable price, with support that’s there when you need it. With this option you get Elementor hosting at $180 annually (same price you’d pay directly), six hours of expert support throughout the year from someone who actually knows your website, peace of mind with regular check-ups and monitoring, and direct access—no phone trees, no ticket systems, no explaining yourself to five different people.

If you hired someone for just 30 minutes of website work monthly at $50/hour, you’d pay $300 in labor alone. Add hosting costs, and you’re already over the Enhanced Care annual price—plus you get someone who knows your site, your business, and your style.

What if you want to handle it yourself?

I totally understand if you’re thinking about handling things yourself—that makes total sense, and that’s what I’ve done too. You’re running a business, you’re a capable human, and DIY can feel empowering and cost-saving. And truly, whatever you decide is best for your business is 100% supported by me. So that you can make the best decision for your situation, let me break down what self-management of hosting looks like.

Going direct with Elementor hosting: You can absolutely buy Elementor hosting yourself. After introductory pricing ends, you’ll pay around $180 annually (most of the cost of Essential Care Package). Here’s what you can expect: you’ll be learning their dashboard and getting familiar with all the settings. Elementor’s interface is quite user-friendly, but there’s still a bit of a learning curve to get comfortable with everything. You’ll be staying on top of plugin updates, security patches, compatibility issues, and troubleshooting when things need attention, or calling in your own tech support when something goes wrong. Having said all that, Elementor’s support ticket system has been quite quick and comprehensive, so that’s good.

Moving to a different hosting company: Bluehost or SiteGround are examples of solid, budget-friendly and well-known companies that millions of websites use successfully. In fact, I used to use Bluehost and loved their customer service, but I ended up switching after running into some of those “bad neighbor” issues. These providers typically start around $35-96 annually for basic shared hosting plans, though renewal rates are usually higher than introductory pricing.

Moving your website to a different host is definitely doable, though it requires some technical steps—you’ll likely need to download a migration plugin, create an account with the new host, download your site data, and upload it to the new place. Once you have things migrated, it’s about getting used to the control panel and understanding how to make updates. The main thing to consider is whether the potential cost savings (which might be $100-200 annually) are worth the time investment of learning the system and managing the migration.

Wherever you land will be fine. All of the options keep your website running, and plenty of people manage their own hosting successfully. If you enjoy learning new things and get energy from understanding the behind-the-scenes of your business, the DIY route can be really satisfying. On the other hand, if you’d rather focus your time and energy on other parts of your business, or if tech stuff isn’t where you feel most confident, a done-for-you hosting package is probably the better fit. It really comes down to how you want to spend your time and what lights you up.

Common Questions

What's the difference between the two packages?

Essential Care covers all the technical maintenance and hosting so your site stays secure and updated. Enhanced Care adds monthly hands-on support from me for content changes, updates, and troubleshooting—good if your business evolves regularly or you want someone who knows your site available when you need help.

Why Elementor hosting specifically?

Powered by Google Cloud Platform with global content delivery, so your site loads fast anywhere. They offer rock-solid security with built-in firewalls, attack protection, and premium SSL certificates. Backups and updates happen automatically. Plus, performance optimization runs behind the scenes without you lifting a finger.

Why stick with my original designer for hosting?

I already know your site, your style, and how everything’s built—so fixes happen quickly without lengthy explanations. Updates look like they belong because I understand your design vision. You contact me directly (no phone trees or ticket systems), and I sometimes catch issues before you even know they exist.

Can I switch packages later?

Yes. You can upgrade to Enhanced Care mid-year anytime. Downgrades to Essential Care happen once per year at renewal (no mid-year refunds).

What counts as 'emergency fixes or quick updates' in Essential Care?

Emergency fixes are things like your site going down unexpectedly, weird domain registration issues, critical security problems, or broken functionality that affects your business operations. Glitches happen sometimes—they’re completely normal, but they don’t help your heart when you go to your website and it’s not there. When that happens, reach out and I’ll dive in as soon as possible to troubleshoot and get everything back up and running.
Quick updates are important but not major overhauls—things like updating pricing for your services, removing one service or adding content to another, updating your bio to reflect a new training or certification, or other small content changes. Business owners typically have price or service adjustments throughout the year, and these fall into that category.
For ongoing content updates and changes beyond these 2 per year, Enhanced Care includes 30 minutes monthly for exactly that kind of support.

What if I need more than 30 minutes in a month with Enhanced Care?

Additional time is available at $95/hour in 30-minute increments. If you’re consistently needing more support—like you’ve added blogging or podcasting, or you’re doing frequent service or product launches—we can discuss adjusting your package or exploring Partnership options for ongoing content support.

Do I own my website?

Yes. The hosting package covers where your site lives and technical maintenance. You own all your content, design, and website files. If you ever want to move to different hosting, I’ll help you export everything.

What's not included?

Major redesigns, custom development work, e-commerce setup (beyond basic maintenance), or paid advertising management. For projects beyond maintenance scope, we can discuss Sprint or Partnership options.

What do these hosting terms mean?

Web Hosting: Renting space for your website on the internet—like having a plot of land where your digital house lives.

Domain: Your website’s address (like yourwebsite.com) that people type in to visit you.

SSL Certificate: Your website’s security badge—that little lock icon in the browser keeping visitors’ information safe.

CDN (Content Delivery Network): Copies of your website stored around the world for super-fast loading no matter where someone visits from.

Plugin: Like apps for your website. Need a contact form? There’s a plugin. Want better security? There’s a plugin for that too.

Uptime: How often your website is actually working when people try to visit. We aim for 99.9%+.

How do I get started?

Email me at [email protected] and let’s talk through which package fits your needs. If you’re an existing client whose site I built, we’ll get you set up quickly. If someone else built your site, we’ll need to review it first to make sure I can support it properly.
